Jason Ackerman :
Welcome back to another episode of Best Hour of Their Day, we have another amazing guest for you, Luke Parker. Now there’s a chance you’ve not heard of Luke Parker. Is it true that the matter is I had it until he and I started messaging each other on Instagram? That’s right. He slid into my DMs. But if you watch TV, especially reality TV, Luke was on the most recent season of The Bachelorette. I’ve never watched The Bachelor or The Bachelorette, but what I heard about him did some research, got myself prepared for this chat. But. He’s so much deeper than just this, a villain on this reality show. Really great. High energy, passionate, good person, and it’s a true pleasure to share with you guys. We talk about the TV show. It’s so interesting to me what it’s like filming what it’s like falling for a girl that’s also chasing after 20 other men, but also his training in Crossfit,. His first workout was Murph, which we’re going to talk about. He’s got a two hundred and seventy five pound snatch. He trains with some of the best athletes in the world, including Travis Mayor. He’s going out to train with Jacob Heppner and more. And he’s got so much good stuff going on. I told them at the end of the interview, and I’ll say it now. I can tell when it’s a great interview and when it’s motivating because I get fired up. You know, that I record these episodes in my closet because of the sound. Also because Roz forces me to go in here to get away from her.

Jason Ackerman :
But I can tell if the interview is going really well when I want to run out of my closet and start squatting or doing muscle ups. So I know you’re going to love this episode. It’s hard not to be motivated when listening to such high energy fun person. And that’s exactly what Luke. So really excited. The cool part about this show is that we get to bring to new guests and interesting people, you know, from some of the Crossfit, health world, from some of the best games athletes to now reality TV stars like Luke Parker. And I hope you enjoy it. And if you do enjoy. Do me a favor. Hit him with a message. Because as we talk about in here, he got a lot of people shooting him, some mean type messages after, you know, it’s easy to be jealous out there in the world. He’s a big, strong dude. He’s good looking. He’s on TV. No wonder he got hate. But I want to show him that the world is positive, too. And I know that our best our listeners are positive, awesome people. So he’s gonna drop his Instagram. And I want you to listen to it. And I want you to then send a message and tell him something that you learned about him or that you liked about him or something that he motivated you to do in your life. Let’s give back to somebody who helped us with our show. So without further ado, my man, my new friend, Luke, the villain, Parker.

Jason Ackerman :
All right. I’m here with Luke Parker. Luke, welcome to the show.

Luke Parker:
Thank you. Glad to be here,.

Jason Ackerman :
Luke. Many people are listening to this show and this might be one of our few episodes. It gets a bigger female audience. Yes.

Luke Parker:
I wonder why.

Jason Ackerman :
Oh ya other than the fact that you are one of the prettiest men I’ve ever seen.

Luke Parker:
Thank you.

Jason Ackerman :
So you were recently on The Bachelor.

Luke Parker:
The Bachelorette.

Jason Ackerman :
The Bachelorette. OK. So. Here’s the deal. I’m a 41 year old man. I have a very, very little experience or understanding of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette. Other than I’ll listen to Howard Stern once in a while and he loves it. I don’t how much you know, Howard Stern, but he’s always talking about The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.

Luke Parker:
That’s hilarious.

Jason Ackerman :
So. So give me the elevator pitch of why somebody would watch this show and what it’s all about.

Luke Parker:
All right. Here’s my elevator pitch, which will be interesting because I never watch the show, till i was on it. My sister in law signed me up for it. But here it is. So. I I don’t know. I guess people would get a kick out of laughing at house. House people are just absolutely ridiculous when they’re pursuing a relationship that they have to fight for. So in the bachelorette scenario, there’s one lady. And she’s dating 20 plus dudes at the same time, at the star. And you know, there’s this whole limo entrance to star. And everyone’s got to find their way to make a big first impression. And then, you know, every week a few a handful of guys get eliminated. So there’s just tons of drama. So definitely huge drama filled TV show.

Jason Ackerman :
You know, you hear about reality shows and we see one thing that isn’t out of it, is it as crazy? Behind the scenes as it is on television? I’m 41. I grew up watching things like the real world. And you think it’s real. And to some extent it is. But there’s a lot of scripting. There’s a lot of, hey, go do this again. Do that. How much of that is happening on these shows?

Luke Parker:
Yeah, there’s definitely a lot of. Hey, do this again, do that. I mean, for example, like we we all at the end of the rose ceremonies or whatever. We’ll make a toast and we’ll all hold our drinks up and everyone will do like two toasts and they will only air one of them. So we’ll be up there for like 30, 40 minutes and then they only take one. That’s just one example. Yeah. I mean, there’s a lot of stuff that goes on behind the scenes that. Is it definitely a lot different than what airs? No doubt.

Jason Ackerman :
All right, I did a little bit of research before we have Don here. And you were upset when you got let go. You went back in. Well, well. So what were you. How long did you know this? This woman.

Luke Parker:
We’re getting we’re starting to get a Deep here now, this hilarious. So I know your sighs I guess I was technically dating her for like two months. But are you dating her now? Yeah, that’s how I say so. I was seeing her two months and I’m seeing her like. Once every three days.

Jason Ackerman :
Oh, that’s it. Even though it seems like you’re seeing your daily, it’s every three days.

Luke Parker:
Yeah, it’s every few days.

Jason Ackerman :
All right. So well .. go on.

Luke Parker:
Yeah. I mean, what’s this about? On average, how much time is spent? And then as time goes on to the show, you eventually did spend a lot more time with her. Which is, you know, that’s when the relationship started growing and becoming more serious.

Jason Ackerman :
Ok, last Bachelorette then talk Crossfit,. That’s over on here. So are you ready if she said Luke your Great. You’re my you’re my guy to marry this person.

Luke Parker:
No, I was not ready. I have a lot more questions and a lot more and getting to know her.

Jason Ackerman :
And is that the end goal of the show?

Luke Parker:
Yeah. The end goal. They try and set it up where, you know, you’re ready. They give you a text of Vicodin or excuse me, a tux proposing and they give you a ring. They got a ring guy that sponsors a show and he’s sits like pulls out all of this All these rings as I go. Which one you want? We’ll take care of you. So they definitely try and push that for sure.

Jason Ackerman :
So financially, it’s a good deal because you’re saving the money on a ring.

Luke Parker:
Oh, for sure.

Jason Ackerman :
I mean, I was expensive when I got engaged.

Luke Parker:
Yeah. The rings no joke, rocks are expensive. I think there’s like a deal. I don’t know exactly. It isn’t something like if you stay married for like three years, but they just give it to you for free. But if you do it like a breakup, an engagement, or I guess divorce within the first year, you have to give them the right back.

Jason Ackerman :
Fair enough.

Luke Parker:
Thats smart.

Jason Ackerman :
You know, we asked our fans and the one question that came about about you was, OK. Your Crossfitter,. Then you go on The Bachelorette. Did doing Crossfit, change the type of woman you were looking for?

Luke Parker:
Yes and no.

Jason Ackerman :
All right, give us both sides.

Luke Parker:
All right. So when I say yes, I mean. Like I definitely. And now more into. I guess I’d say I’m more attracted. Yeah, that’s that’s a good way to put it. I’m more attracted to girls that are all about the gym are in their grind and they that out. I say no because I’ve always been into girls that are fit. So whether it’s running with whatever kind of working out, like that’s just kind of my type. I love girls that are afraid to get dirty or go on like a hike or be able to do something physical, you know, that are always down and go do something.

Jason Ackerman :
Ok. Well, you have a broad audience here. If if the top girl athletes are listening, which is the one you would want to date from.

Luke Parker:
Hahaha,.

Luke Parker:
You know, we know Tia is married, you know, and other people are married, so I’m sure you don’t act like you haven’t thought of this lately.

Luke Parker:
This is hilarious,.

Jason Ackerman :
Which is a?

Luke Parker:
Put me on the spot.

Jason Ackerman :
You never know. It might not have worked out on television, but it’s going to work out on best hour of their day. You might find you might find that the Crossfit, girl of your dreams. Who? Who would you throw out there?

Luke Parker:
All of the top elite girls that are single are very beautiful. So I’m not I can’t just give one name. But you’re so beautiful, girl. I can’t even begin where it’s going.

Jason Ackerman :
So, Brooke, if you’re listening, you learn. You learn a lot on television. I could tell. That was a smart move there. All right.

Luke Parker:
Brooke Wells is definitely beautiful. She’s definitely one of the ones talking about.

Jason Ackerman :
Well, I’d.

Luke Parker:
Now that you bring it.

Jason Ackerman :
If she’s listening or someone that knows who is listening, said Luke’s Instagram over to her. Right. Tell me about your your journey into Crossfit,. I mean, you clearly were a fit. Did working at all along? What was it? What was it like to venture into your first Crossfit, workout?

Luke Parker:
Man, I love answering this question, so. I played for years baseball, college, baseball and all my buddies. We’re always like, dude, you’ve got to like, try out Crossfit,, man, go check it out. And, you know, all through baseball, I was always watching these YouTube videos of this Reebok Crossfit, games. I’m like, what is this stuff? And I fell in love with Rich Froning. I had a huge man crush. Huge dude crush. Like I want to do what this dude dose. So eventually, after hanging my cleats up after two years, I was like, you know what? I’ll try it out. I go to this local box and this is exactly what goes down. My first workout is Murph. And like, you know what? I’m going to go ahead and try to do it on Parchin and I’m going to do it with a 20 pound weight at vest. And see what happened, my hands full, like the top, like, right under my ring and middle finger. To my palms. were.

Jason Ackerman :
Shredded?,.

Luke Parker:
I was so shredded, I was bleeding everywhere, I was suffering that last mile. Tore me up. And I just remember thinking if dudes are tough enough to do this and they’re getting paid, it is like. Damn that I want to be doing this. That’s exactly what happened, I just started trying to train in the local box and figured out that the sport was way harder than I thought. And I just started falling in love with it, with the community and everything.

Jason Ackerman :
So that wasn’t at your affiliate that you’re out now?

Luke Parker:
That was at a gym called North Side during fitness now and Coming, Georgia.

Jason Ackerman :
Did you just decide to hit that? Or did they? Were they doing that work out? And they asked me to join because that’s a potentially a mistake.

Luke Parker:
Yeah, they do it once a year and it was that time of the year. And they’re just like, oh, perfect timing. Just wear red white and blue and come out. We’ll have some fun But I’m like, all right. I’ve no idea really what the workout was. And then. Yeah, that’s what happened.

Jason Ackerman :
Could you extend your arms the next day?

Luke Parker:
Ya i was extremely sore. I was struggling to get out of bed.

Jason Ackerman :
So you go from Murph, was it just you you finish the workout? Well, you know, first of all, have you been in touch with the Rich? Have you ever worked out with him yet?

Luke Parker:
No, I have not worked out yet, but I have had the chance to meet him. I met him at the games, actually, when I spectate. And then I actually just did a little OCR race. It was to help raise money for Togo missions in Africa and Africa. And he was there. And I got to run against him and his cousin and his wife, which was pretty cool. I got to run through the woods and rich and like Europe comes next to him, which is pretty tight.

Jason Ackerman :
I’ll see you at the race recently. Wasn’t it the one that Hunter MacIntyre put together? It was like a little competition.

Luke Parker:
No. That was the Spartan World Championships in Tahoe. So I was talking about a little race in Alabama that was just to help raise money for kids in Africa and stuff.

Jason Ackerman :
So did you beat rich?

Luke Parker:
I did. I actually did.

Jason Ackerman :
But he was hanging back with Hilary, wasn’t he?

Luke Parker:
Yeah. It was his cousin’s wife. That well, I can’t just call her out. This is bad. Does that mean he was using the entire thing? Right. But it was really cool. He got around this family and again, just to raise money and stuff. So. But I say I beat him, but I would really my team beat him by literally like three steps. We finished to like the same time.

Jason Ackerman :
A win is a win. Go and don’t sell yourself short. So what is. What’s it? What’s it been like since that day? Hitting Murph. You know, you walk into your affiliate. I you just in the Crossfit, full blast now.

Luke Parker:
Definitely. So the owner of the gym of the box, I went to the same gypsy’s absolute stud. And now since I started training and bringing up to him, hey, man, like I really want to see how physically fit I can be. Like, this is what I want to reach. I want to see if, you know, I could be the world’s first man.

Luke Parker:
And he looks at me and at me laughs, do I love the man? But like, this is not the gym for you. It’s just like, I’ll be real, bro. Like, that’s what you’re trying to do. You need to go to train. Think tank in Alpharetta, Georgia, and Travis Mayor, who owns Crossfit, Passion, which is connected to Train Think Tank, which is one of the big remote programming companies for Crossfit,, is in Alpharetta. And I just went and just met Travis one day and it was pretty funny. I like walk up to him, I meet my came and I wouldn’t have to do to be in your shoes in a few years. That is really cool. But I love messing with them and talking about this because I was at some kid that walks and is like, hey man, I want to do a pro Crossfit, what I have to do. And he just point to train think tank. And you know, for the last year that’s all I’ve been doing is getting my butt kicked and getting fit with the training think tank crew. So.

Jason Ackerman :
SO, my.

Luke Parker:
Go ahead?

Jason Ackerman :
I’ve owned three affiliates, like I was telling you on the Crossfit, seminar staffs, I’ve coached thousands of people. And I mean, I couldn’t even begin to tell you the number of times I’ve heard the same story. We really we just laugh. Right. It’s like we’ve seen the elite, you know, so. And the average person sees it on TV and they’re like, I can do that. And we’re like, no, you can’t. So now. Is Travis. Does Travis would you say he truly believes you can make it? Or is he just kind of encouraging you as a good dude? I think he truly thinks I can make it.

Jason Ackerman :
Do you know what it takes? I mean, you’re a smart dude. You truly think, OK, I can be in Madison with these guys.

Luke Parker:
Definitely.

Jason Ackerman :
Alright cool ya, Yeah.

Luke Parker:
It’s able. Why you let me back up before I finish the sentence. I have so much respect for these guys because they go to a whole another level, but training volume and just the amount of time that they’ve been doing this sport. So I know that by me being in Madison isn’t going to happen anytime soon. Like this, it’s going to take not just months, but years of putting in hard work. But I believe I can.

Jason Ackerman :
What is what are some numbers that are impressive given you like the Lucas Parker like highlight reel in Crossfit,?

Luke Parker:
So, dang, I wish I had my laptop with me right now. I would have to let me just give you some strength numbers.

Jason Ackerman :
I’m pretty and you big deal. What do you think? Six two.

Luke Parker:
Na I wish I’m like six foot,.

Jason Ackerman :
AlRight,.

Luke Parker:
About like two hundred two o five.

Jason Ackerman :
Yes. I mean, you walk in, you have that presence, you have the athletic build, you played college ball. It’s not as if somebody off the street is saying they want to make the games.

Luke Parker:
Right.

Jason Ackerman :
So what is the some of your numbers?

Luke Parker:
So actually, just hit a PR today. So speaking of graphs, I hit a I hit a PR today. It’s funny, I was actually hitting some pretty heavy singles for me on snatch squats and I Travis’s in there getting after it with one of the other guys. I mean, I’m like, yo, Travis, I’m like this is not even on my programming, but I’m feeling really good today that I should I just go up and try and hit a pr. He’s like, dude, send that. and I hit two sixty five, which I never done them for. And then I just kept moving up and I ended up hitting two seventy five which. So that’s to give you a benchmark.

Jason Ackerman :
Yeah that.

Luke Parker:
Max snatch squat

Jason Ackerman :
That’s legit. That’s legit. Now it’s easy to be strong if you’re don’t have gymnastics. Tell me a little bit about what your gymnastics looked like.

Luke Parker:
So my gymnastics are really good and really bad all the same time. So I’m getting really good at the muscle ups, my forms getting efficient, my lats are going strong. I just getting use the volume, but I definitely have a lot of work to do with that. My handstand walks are actually really good. Which is really funny because I can’t do a handstand pushups to save my life. It’s like my biggest limiter right now, but I’m putting a lot of work in right now. Just did a lot in the day. My neckvlike it’s broken.

Jason Ackerman :
I do believe hands and walking is easier than the push ups because it’s basically just falling.

Luke Parker:
Yeah,.

Jason Ackerman :
And you don’t need that full range of motion. But no doubt if you’re getting that in the hand and push ups, you are right behind. So what are some goals you have your sights set on in Crossfit, competitions? Are you doing any of the sanctions or you signed up for the open?

Luke Parker:
Yeah. So in the last quite a few months I’ve just joined a team with training think tank and in with some guys. I’ve been to regionals before and sectionals last year, so I’m pumped right now. My goal is just to really see where I line up because I haven’t even finished a full open yet. Ever this last open I tried finishing and right after nineteen point three I had to fly out to L.A. to start filming for The Bachelorette, so I needed to finish that one. So I’m just really right now that’s my goal is just to train right now for the open, which is coming up like. Really soon. It’s right around the corner.

Jason Ackerman :
Were you able to train on set?

Luke Parker:
Yes and no. They you. Every now and then they give us like we’d have to call the handlers ahead of time and talk to the producers and be like look Get me on the schedule for a 30 minute window in the fitness room and whatever hotel we’re staying in, and half the time we’d sign up, they wouldn’t even let us go. This stuff would come up like interviews and B roll and all the other stuff. But every now and then I would get some extended time in like little hotel weight room and I would just do some dumbbell stuff. But I was definitely waking up early and some of the days I was doing handstand pushups in my room and like air squats and stuff like working on my handstand walk

Jason Ackerman :
Did you did you get any other guys to dive into Crossfit?

Luke Parker:
A little bit. We were at the mansion. So when we’re at the mansion, it was really cool. That was best. So I don’t know how much you said you didn’t know much about the show, but.

Jason Ackerman :
I’ve seen the mansion. I know what you’re talking about.

Luke Parker:
Right. Allows it’s bringing up the fact that I was this year’s villain. And I of it at the end of the season is very drama filled. And I know I didn’t get along with really any of the guys. But anyway,.

Jason Ackerman :
When you say you were this year’s villain, is that the role that they portrayed you in? Or did you purposely.

Luke Parker:
Yes I did not purposely try to be the villain.

Jason Ackerman :
Because, I mean, speaking to you for this short period of time, like this dude can’t be a bad guy. So how do they do they? And that’s what’s so amazing about reality TV, right? You can say something and they completely. So. I want to hear more, but in retrospect, are you glad you did it?

Luke Parker:
Yes, it’s because I learned so much. I got to learn a lot about myself. I’ve got to grow a lot more maturity. So, yeah, I my eyes have been open to a whole lot. So for that, I’m thankful. And yeah, I mean, like you said earlier, like financially, I didn’t I didn’t pay flying halfway around Europe and getting to go to, like this five star restaurants and all this cool stuff. So you have the overall experience is great. But yeah, pretty much what I was going to explain. Rewind at the mansion. Yeah. We had some cool bro time and like there’s like a little hill in the back. And I was like did some guys do some jumping Split lunges like for like five reps and then like five burpees and then a little hill sprint. So I was doing a little bit like of metco with them which was cool. Some of the guys would do it with me.

Jason Ackerman :
You know, Crossfit, is all about community camaraderie. But here you are training with people and you’re trying to go after the same girl. Is it the same type of community that you have, like with Travis, at think tank? Or is it like I’m cheering you on, but I really don’t like you?

Luke Parker:
Yeah. No. In the beginning, it was cool. It was more like. You know, we’re just throwing out, trying to break a sweat and then, yeah, at the end of the season. It was more like that feeling.

Jason Ackerman :
Like it must be like as you realize, like, hey, we are both into this girl. Like now we’re almost like enemies. Only one of us is going to get this girl right. So is it like.

Luke Parker:
I never really felt like that. I mean, there’s still three times in the season when I was getting pretty drama filled, I felt like I’d still like. Kind of hang out and work out next to some of the guys, but. I mean, there’s a little bit of like awkward tension whenever conversations about her come up to me. You know what I mean. But when you’re just kicking it with you guys, it’s kind of like, you know, you just throw it out. And then one conversation about Hannah comes up. That was her name, Hannah Brown. You’re just like. Why you talking about my Girl.

Jason Ackerman :
Is she. I she still with the person that won.

Luke Parker:
No, they really didn’t want you, never.

Jason Ackerman :
You what, I don’t watch a whole lot of TV, but I’ve never watched that. But now I mean, now I want to. This was you. And I started talking after it was over. Is there any harder? Is there any part of you that’s like, alright, now is my chance. They broke up.

Luke Parker:
No. No. No,.

Jason Ackerman :
Ou wouldn’t go back?

Luke Parker:
No.

Jason Ackerman :
OK. I’ve got to find out why now. How. How are you going to break the stigma of like you’re the Crossfit,. But you’re also the bachelor guy.

Luke Parker:
Very good question. How about. I’m trying to figure that out right now.

Jason Ackerman :
Because I mean, even this interview. Right? Right. We’re talking, but it’s back. And I don’t think hey, I don’t think it’s bad, right?

Luke Parker:
No, it’s been great. I mean, listen, how funny is this? Let me just cut you off real quick, because I think this is hilarious. Like I read Rich Froning book and like this dude is literally are my inspiration. And I told you why got into Crossfit, was watching YouTube videos of this guy and hearing his story. You know, he’s a believer. And I got to just really relate to a lot of his story just with how he got into Crossfit,. And I I just randomly reach out to Hillary, his wife, because she got randomly tagged on something on my Instagram. I’m like, hey, you know, I don’t know if you’re a fan of the show or anything, but I’m like, I’m a huge fan of you and your husband Story I just love I’d love to meet you. And she’s like, oh, my gosh. Like, we watched Bachelor every Wednesday night or every Monday night or whatever. And I’m like, no way. Let’s go. So that’s how i got met rich. I just like reached out to Hillary, which is so funny, I think. But I mean, I just it just goes to show you, you know, like a lot of people get a kick out of that show and watch it with their friends. So that happen. And. Yeah, I got to meet Rich, and I thought that was a really cool experience. I mean, I know I’m like really new to Crossfit,, but I mean, he’s the goat. So he’s the goat.

Jason Ackerman :
Are you? Are you saying can we quote you on this? Froning is better than Fraser.

Luke Parker:
Yes, you can quote me on that. Oh, yes.

Jason Ackerman :
Yeah. All right.

Luke Parker:
I would just I would literally give him six months to train full time for individual. I’d know he’d win

Jason Ackerman :
I like it. I he’s going against Panchik in the open announcement. You think he’s gonna beat Scott?

Luke Parker:
It’ll be I don’t know. It’ll be interesting. I don’t really know where Scott’s fitness is right now. I don’t know what both of them have been doing. Sure. I’m sure he’ll win.

Jason Ackerman :
I don’t think either of them ever get out of shape. Right. It’s just them.

Luke Parker:
That’s true. They’re all ahah.

Jason Ackerman :
So, I mean, you’ve got to train with rich. You get to train with Travis. What else says being on The Bachelorette. Done for your Crossfit, career.

Luke Parker:
It’s just opened up a lot of doors. It’s giving me the opportunity. One I love. And this is how I got in contact with you guys was just, you know, all about helping people be a better version of themselves. And I am a huge firm believer in functional fitness. And now that I’m doing that, Crossfit, and I have this athletic background, baseball in like some different bodybuilding and some different other, you know, just styles of training that I’ve done, I’m like trying to combine them all and kind of create a workout workout programs that I would do personally if I wasn’t trying to pursue competitive Crossfit,. And I’m trying to sell them online through unbroken fitness. And I just started this 30 day unbroken finish challenged. And thank you guys. Own Your Eating for hooking my clients up with seven free days of distress feeds for clean eating, which they’ve been hooting and hollering about how.

Jason Ackerman :
They’re enjoying it?

Luke Parker:
Oh, yeah. You guys at the absolutely killed that for me. So I appreciate you guys helping me out of that. And yeah. So, I mean, there’s tons of companies I don’t really have any full time commitments yet, but there’s tons of Crossfit, companies that I know because, you know, I had to have an overnight following reality show. So, I mean, there’s a lot of Crossfit, companies I’ll be able to work with soon, which I’m excited about. And yeah, it’s just opened up a lot of doors for me to meet some of the top level athletes. You know, I’m really I’m really excited actually coming here pretty soon. I’m actually leaving tomorrow to go to Colorado to go see my mom and go train there. And right at the end of that trip, before I go, come back home for the open, I’m going to be in Kansas. And when we go train with Jacob Heppner for a couple of days in his barn, which I’m super stoked about, and something like that, which is like a dream come true for any Crossfit, like that would have never happened if I was on The Bachelorette. And, you know, I mean, that’s just like a few examples of kind of the doors that open from this crazy experience that I’ve gone through. And it’s I mean, it’s got me where I want to be because, you know, I’ve been committed to put in the work with Crossfit, now and I get to meet all these awesome people who are just involved with the sport. So it’s been great.

Jason Ackerman :
Well, two seventy five Snatch doesn’t hurt either when you’re trying to train with these guys. Right.

Luke Parker:
So a big head now.

Jason Ackerman :
As an ambassador of Crossfit, and of course, Crossfit, coaching. When are we going to see you at your level one?

Luke Parker:
Soon we’ll see.

Luke Parker:
I have a feeling it will only take a message to Dave Castro to get you in the door. Hey, Dave. Thinking about taking my level one, I’m pretty sure would be. Let me know which one you want to go to. So if you’re interested, I would you know, I think that’s one route you can take, but it would be a pleasure from our and I can assure you, the coach at your level one, I would definitely recommend check. Hey there in Atlanta all the time. You can hang out with Chuck Carswell. I don’t if you know, Chuck.

Luke Parker:
Yeah, that would be awesome. That would be great.

Jason Ackerman :
So is that anything? You know what you’re doing online and helping people train and be the best version of themselves. Do you? Do you have any desire to one day coach or own your own Crossfit, affiliate?

Luke Parker:
Yeah, definitely. I don’t know about how near in the future, but I’ve definitely I’ve entertained the idea of locally where I’m at now, starting my own affiliate and just starting my own gym in general. But right now I’m just focusing on. This transition from the show and some other things online. Obviously still competing with Crossfit, and getting a lot of training in. And then I’m still working part time with the family business. So I’m helping my dad, out and stuff as well. So just trying to figure it all out.

Jason Ackerman :
In this day and age, everybody wants to be famous overnight. Right. You know, Instagram of social media, all that water. What is one thing? We are not aware of that you are now that you’ve had that success, like one bad thing that we’re like, oh, well, we didn’t. We want this, but we didn’t realize this would happen.

Luke Parker:
It’s pretty deep right now.

Jason Ackerman :
We do it our best our way. I gave you the fluffy 275 snatch, but now we what to hear the real stuff.

Luke Parker:
And I love it. I love it. I. Now, I’m just a real positive, guys. It’s like me to find negative. The only reason I say that is just because I feel like all the possible negatives are just good because they like grow you up, you learn a lot. So, for example, like, obviously I’m in a different situation because I got famous overnight for being on a reality TV show. And like I said, I was the season’s villain. So I had to deal with. A whole lot. I had no idea was even in existence with a huge following came tons of people who act like they knew who I was. And like thousands of the INS saying I would say thousands more like hundreds of DM that were just like twisted, like, dude, you need your way from life, like to do this. Dude you that like some hateful messages that, you know, if you if you read a bunch of those like those, it catch you down and it isn’t that you are evil?

Luke Parker:
Yeah, exactly. And I mean, the reality is, too. Like there’s one person every single day in the US that actually commits suicide from cyber bullying. And that’s that’s no joke. So I’d say that’s one thing that you wouldn’t even realize, like how much I would never call this a negative thing. But just how many people message you on a daily basis. How many messages you’re getting and stuff. But I mean, it’s such a cool thing that. Like you all of a sudden have a platform and you to impact people and you could choose to do it with it, whatever you want. And I get the message from many people and connect with so many people that I would have never dreamed to, you know, if I didn’t go on that show.

Luke Parker:
So that’s huge positive. But you still make the most of it. And just remember who you are and strange people.

Jason Ackerman :
That’s really awesome to hear. And I think, you know, I’m a huge fan of Joe Rogan. And Joe Rogan is one to say, like 10 percent of the world is absolutely crazy, you know? And those are the people that are messaging you. And you, the euro. But it’s hard. You’re right. I equals a you know, you. It’s hard when you see it, though, over and over. But I can tell you, I’ve not known you very long. But based on this conversation and our interactions, you are one of us. It’s been really awesome to work with you behind the scenes. But then to have this chat and I.

Luke Parker:
For sure.

Jason Ackerman :
I have no doubt you will be at the Crossfit, Games at my Business Spectator for the next year or two. Have you trained? What do you make fun of Travis for having a dad bob or do you. Not.

Luke Parker:
No that so many, so many people do. But I don’t mess with them at all because I can’t. Because they enjoy it. Bye, guys. Well, let’s do this metco together and they all start some humble pie,.

Jason Ackerman :
Is it not? Like that’s one of the most impressive things like looking at Travis, you’d be like that dude’s he’s in shape. Let’s not get it wrong. But you wouldn’t be unfair to Rich Froning, but he’s just as good.

Luke Parker:
Yeah. It’s pretty crazy, honestly. Now you bring that up like like you said, you see, obviously, if he takes his shirt something like you’re like, dang, OK, this dude definitely trains like he’s in shape.

Jason Ackerman :
But he looks better this year, too, by the way. I notice that he looks. I thought to myself it was actually during the sprints. I remember seeing him out on the field and I was like, well, you could tell he looks better this year. And maybe that’s because he came from the year of demo team, maybe had a little fire lit under his butt.

Luke Parker:
Mm hmm. Yeah. I mean, he’ll just tell you like, I do like I’m genetically maxed out. And I it’s so funny as you look at some like you, you believe it. I mean, you seem to mcetco or some just flex something crazy and. Yeah, I mean it’s just crazy cause Crossfit, you have some of these dudes who aesthetically do this, super freaks. I mean they look like Under Armour mannequin models know what i mean, but they’re just crazy looking and they’re muscles like they look like pokey might look fake. But is this a stund so by yellow people? some people mess will him at the gym sometimes but I don’t.

Jason Ackerman :
So for the listeners, you know, we get a lot of people. They are they want to be training just like you. They want to be in the game. But what’s what’s something they don’t realize? You and Travis and the other people that are really training full time are doing to make it their.

Luke Parker:
So one cool thing, I’ll just go and bring bringing up. I’m actually in the process of starting a podcast myself.

Jason Ackerman :
Oh call what will it be call once called will be able we’ll have to check it out

Luke Parker:
It’s called the Unbroken Mentality and. I talk about pretty much I’m going to talk about is pretty much. The question you just asked me and I will one, the foundation of that I think is, is your why? I just want to really touch on a lot of motivational pieces and really just. Talk about. Why people do what they do. And I think once you are in tune with yourself more than you know yourself more. And you know what you want. And you know what your end goal is, your dream is whether there and this stuff goes on anything in life. This is not Crossfit, like this is Crossfit, work, relationships, everything. When you are intuitive yourself and you know and are fully committed to your why? Why you do what you do. And you start giving 100 percent. Having a strong ally is going to fuel you to reach. And obtain anything that you want. I think the coolest thing about it, and this is the one thing that I absolutely love is you type right into Crossfit,. You know, there’s always that moment right where we get. It’s almost like I like using the analogy like in a phone call. There’s that moment where these little voices in your head are like, dude, what are you doing right now? Do you even want to stop that? Like we’re hurting right now. I want to quit. And that little voices in your head that are asking that question, why are you doing this? If you don’t have an unshakeable answer of what your why is that you’re going to either slow down, give you 90 percent of 100 percent, or you’re just going to quit right then and there. And that is no different than anything in the business world, the workforce, anything you do or go through in life. And that right there is that would be like my one I guess tip would be just be more in tune yourself and focus on what your why is. Because that’s what’s going to drive you and get you to be able to do whatever it is you want accomplish.

Jason Ackerman :
I love it. I’m a big fan of that. One of my favorite books is Start With Y by Simon Sinek.

Luke Parker:
Let’s go.

Jason Ackerman :
And so, OK, let me let me ask a deeper question, though. We get a lot of listeners. They’re going to be all in. I love it. Luke got me fired up. How do they find their way?

Luke Parker:
Who that’s a good one. I would just say. Yeah, I mean, that’s a very good question, just because some people, you know, it may not happen in one conversation with themselves. It may not happen overnight. They may be on this journey to find with their wives. And I would just I would say. Lately in my life and this is a life I’ve gotten really into journaling and I would just say start journaling your thoughts. There’s always something that makes you tick. There’s always something that will drive you and motivate you, move you, fuel your fire and truly deep down what that is. Some people have a why and they don’t even really know what it is. And I would say just start writing down your thoughts and write it down. You know what you want to accomplish and then start asking yourself, well, why do I want that? You know, why do I want this my future? Like, what is the real reason? And I would just encourage them to break out the pen and paper and just go to town. Figure it out.

Jason Ackerman :
I love that I have a lot more questions, but I want to leave it there because I think that was really, really deep and really, really good stuff. And I I like it. I could tell it’s good when I get kind of fired up like I want what’s going on right now. I have a feeling after this episode you’re gonna get a lot more DMs is that all the positive stuff? But let people know where they can find you. You know, your new podcast, your your social media, everything you got going on. Can you let our listeners know where they can find it?

Luke Parker:
Definitely. I’d say right now the biggest thing is Luke Underscore Parker 7 7 7. That is my Instagram Handel.. And I’m going to start putting the links in my bio that can get them to everything. So much going to have a setup. Yeah, I’m actually working on it. So my unbroken fitness web site and then also links to my young broken mentality podcast as well.

Jason Ackerman :
So if you if you listen to this and you get fired up a little. Do me a favor. Shoot him a IDM. Help balance out those haters. You know the haters anyway. But now this was really great. Luke, I’m excited. Where are you going to be in Colorado?

Luke Parker:
My mother’s in Boulder. I’ll be flying to Denver and head over to Boulder.

Jason Ackerman :
Well, I’ll talk to you off line. The reason I have some cool stuff going on actually in Boulder. So happy to see this summer. Some boxes out there and some some really good people. So for sure. Yeah, we’ll do that. But in the meantime, thank you and safe travels out there. And good luck training with. I hope you beat him on a couple of workouts.

Luke Parker:
We’re gonns have a blast, I’m just gonna beat Winston the corgis.

Jason Ackerman :
Yeah. You know who. Who do you got this year? Who? Who would you say? 20, 20 men and women’s champions are gonna be. Last question.

Luke Parker:
Noah Olson.

Jason Ackerman :
Wooo Noah Olson.

Luke Parker:

Jason Ackerman :
